The story is for kids

Holograms of emojis with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and Het Orkest Laboratorium.

Professor Freek den Hartogh, with the help of music, has made contact with an alien being named OO. The concert hall is transformed into a Mission Control: what happens when OO hears the Fifth by Beethoven or Carmen by Bizet or Grieg and how does he react to rhythms and singing?

The children’s music week was held from 5 to 14 April for children up to and including 12 years old.

In collaboration with musician, conductor and entrepreneur (Cultural production company Sonolux BV.) Marcel Geraeds, ArtiShock has created a series of 3D Emojis and incorporated them into an application.

With this application, Marcel and his team can make emoji appear that become visible as holograms above the orchestra and interact with the young audience. The enthusiasm in De Doelen in Rotterdam was great when the first smiling Emoji appeared above the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, followed, in line with the story and the music, by a sad or in love Emoji.

Along the way, several emoji passed and by the end, the waving Emoji was able to say goodbye to its audience. Combined with the acting of a few actors and the excellent music of the orchestra, these performances became unforgettable for the thousands of children who have experienced this.
